Anthony Nwakaeme Named In Turkish Super Lig Team Of The Week

Former Super Eagles invitee Anthony Nwakaeme has been selected in the Turkish Super Lig Team of the Week for game week 24 by Whoscored.com.

The offensive all-rounder made the cut following his individual brilliance in Trabzonspor's tie with Kasimpasa at the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Stadyumu, scoring both goals for his team in a 2-2 draw.

Predominantly a striker, Nwakaeme has been deployed as a left winger in all of his 17 matches for Trabzonspor in the Super Lig and he occupied the left midfield role in the Team of the Week.

Aytaç Kara (Bursaspor), Jose Sosa (Trabzonspor) and Abdou Razack Traore (Konyaspor) joined the Nigerian in midfield in a 4-4-2 formation.

Against Kasimpasa, the 29-year-old was the highest shot-taker with five attempts of which three were on target, made one key pass, won three aerial duels and completed three take-ons.

Anthony Nwakaeme was the highest rated of the 26 players in action, with a 9.05 ranking.
