Swiss-Born Winger Okafor Coming Of Age At FC Basel, Scores & Assist In Latest Game
Binningen-born winger Noah Okafor has established himself as a first team regular at Swiss powerhouse FC Basel.

The Nigeria-eligible starlet, who is still only 18, has started four of the last six matches contested by Basel in the Super League and put in a man of the match display as FCB beat Neuchâtel Xamax 2-0 on game week 22.

Playing as a winger, Okafor's brilliant runs on the flank caused Neuchâtel Xamax a lot of problems, and it was his cross that led to the opening goal scored by Valentin Stocker in the 35th minute.

The 18-year-old was unlucky to hit the bar with a curling shot from inside the penalty area six minutes into the second half.

With 70 minutes gone, Okafor scored through a brilliant curler from 20 meters to make it 2-0, his second goal in Basel's colours since he was officially promoted to the first team in January 2018.

He made his professional debut against FC Luzern in May 2018 and has 16 appearances to his name.

Born to a Nigerian father and Swiss mom, the precocious teenager has caps for Switzerland's U15, U17, U18 and U19 teams and only an injury prevented him from making his U21 debut against France in November 2018.
