Arsenal Product Ajayi Reveals Two Conditions For Invitation To Super Eagles In Future
Published: September 10, 2018Former Arsenal youth-teamer Semi Ajayi is hungry for more Nigeria caps after making his competitive debut that cap-tied him to the Super Eagles in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles.
The Rotherham United star, who has played as a central defender and defensive midfielder in the current season and operated as a right back on Saturday, has acknowledged that a future invitation to the national team is not in his hands.
Ajayi thinks he merits an invitation for the upcoming games if he continues doing well at his Championship club and continues to impress the coaching staff led by Gernot Rohr, just as he did against Seychelles.
''It was an honour to be called up, honour to get the chance to make my debut, I am very happy, it is a very proud day for me and I thought I did quite well and we got a good result so it is all positive,'' said Ajayi to Brila FM.
''Three points is always important, so we need to continue picking up wins. ''

He added : ''Definitely, as long as I keep performing for my club and keep performing when I am called upon by the coach here, I hope to make many more appearances for Nigeria.''
Ajayi has been named in the Super Eagles 18-man roster to face Liberia tomorrow and could make his full debut against the West African opponents.
