Talented Nigerian Goalkeeper Joins League Two Club Stevenage
Published: July 30, 2018According to information gathered by allnigeriasoccer.com, EFL League Two club Stevenage are on the brink of officially confirming the capture of promising Nigerian goalkeeper Edward Ogbebor-Onaiwu.
The 17-year-old has already agreed terms with The Boro and has started training with their U18 team ahead of the new season.
Few clubs had explored the possibility of signing the former Nigeria U23 invitee but he chose Stevenage because he believes he will be given a chance to break into the first team.
Ogbebor-Onaiwu started and went the distance for Stevenage U18s in their 3-3 draw with Millwall in a pre-season friendly on Friday afternoon.
He will be joining Stevenage on a free transfer after mutually terminating his contract with AFC Wimbledon in January 2018.
The highly-rated glovesman, who has cited Manuel Neuer and Thibaut Courtois as his role models, previously played for the academy teams of Crystal Palace and Charlton Athletic.
