Portuguese Club Rio Ave Yet To Pay For Kelechi's Services After Transfer
Published: June 09, 2018Portuguese Primeira Liga outfit Rio Ave are yet to pay Junior Elkanemi FC of Jos for the services of all-round defensive footballer, Kelechi John, over two years after the boy joined the club.
The owner of the club, Alhaji Idris Kwando told allnigeriasoccer.com in Jos that he has contacted his lawyers who in turn will be expected to write world football governing body Fifa to report Rio Ave's unwillingness to pay the transfer fee.
Kelechi was on loan at Nigerian champions Plateau United when he was spotted by a Portuguese based scout, Paul Ojo, who got the player from the club with assistance from the owner of Pawas Soccer Academy Paul Wahab.
Kelechi's parent club, Junior Elkanemi were told initially that the club was transiting from its former owners to a new owner and as a result the payment will be delayed but from what is going on now it is becoming one of the most delayed payment in modern football transfer history.
