Nigerian-Born Winger Tipped To Stay Put At Liverpool For Fourth Successive Season
Published: May 18, 2018Allnigeriasoccer.com can confirm that Ibadan-born winger Bobby Adekanye is likely to remain at Liverpool next season.
Liverpool Echo has reported that the Netherlands youth-teamer has been linked with a move away from the Academy, but still has a year remaining on his contract and is expected to stay put.
Adekanye has impressed for Liverpool youth teams this season, especially in the UEFA Youth League where he scored 3 goals (1 assist) in eight games, prompting the club to want to retain his services.
''Bobby still has one more year remaining on his contract, his deal is not finished yet. He is focused and doing his best everyday, '' a top source told allnigeriasoccer.com.
''He is not going away from Liverpool now. Next season he will remain.''
The 19-year-old Adekanye had spells with the youth teams of Ajax Amsterdam, PSV Eindhoven and Barcelona before joining Liverpool in July 2015.
He was on target as Liverpool U23s thrashed Panjab FA 4-1 in a post-season friendly on Monday.
