Official : Chelsea Striker Of Nigerian Descent Won't Extend Deal With Swansea
Published: May 13, 2018Chelsea striker of Nigerian descent Tammy Abraham will not be signed on a permanent basis by Swansea City, the player and the demoted Premier League club have confirmed.
The England U21 star joined the Welsh outfit last summer on a season-long loan and finished the season with 8 goals in 39 appearances of which 31 were in the Premier League.
Abraham earned plenty of praise in the first three months of the season, netting four goals in 11 games, which led to a maiden call-up to the England squad ahead of friendlies against Brazil and Germany.
In a post retweeted by Swansea City, Abraham stated : ''I just want to thank @SwansOfficial , the staff, the players and the fans who have supported me the whole way ❤️disappointing end to the season for us but wish the club all the best in the future 🙏🏾#JackArmy.''
Abraham, who is regarded as one of the bright young prospects at Chelsea, has played two games for the Blues in the Premier League and made a name for himself during his loan spell with Championship outfit Bristol City in the 2016-2017 campaign.
Kenneth Omeruo, Ola Aina, Fikayo Tomori and Ike Ugbo are the other players of Nigerian descent loaned out by Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
