Liverpool's Nigerian Winger Reacts After Outshining New Eden Hazard
Published: May 09, 2018Bobby Adekanye played an instrumental role in Liverpool's 5-1 rout of Chelsea in a Premier League 2 Division One clash at Anfield on Tuesday, May 8.
It was a disappointing evening for the Young Blues as they were no match for the Reds despite having in their ranks the highly-rated Callum Hudson-Odoi, who has been touted as the next Eden Hazard.
Four minutes before half-time, Adekanye doubled his side's lead with an emphatic finish after showing quick feet to skip his way past Chelsea defender, Joshua Grant to get into a shooting position to score.
The winger tormented the Chelsea defense and was very adept in linking up with his fellow attackers.
Writing on Instagram, Adekanye said : ''Great experience yesterday night 🏟😄👉🏿 fans where excellent 👏🏿 #anfield''.
Surprisingly, Adekanye's strike against Chelsea was his only goal in the Premier League 2 in the just concluded season, however, he was more productive in the UEFA Youth League, netting three goals in eight matches and providing one assist.
Ajax, FC Barcelona and PSV were the teams the Ibadan-born starlet represented before he was acquired by Liverpool in the summer of 2015.
