Agent : There's No Truth In Reports Winger Who Has Contributed 22 Goals Is Joining Anderlecht
Published: May 02, 2018Reports linking AS Trencin's Nigerian winger Hilary Gong with an imminent move to Belgian champions Anderlecht are wide of the mark, with his bonafide agent Tony Harris confirming that a deal is not close and the transfer fee being quoted is incorrect.
In recent seasons, AS Trencin have done transfer business with Gent and Zulte Waregem, following the sale of Samuel Kalu, Moses Simon, Rabiu Ibrahim, Kingsley Madu and Aliko Bala, but not with Anderlecht.
Many clubs in Europe are expected to register their interest in Gong as he has been AS Trencin's most in-form player this season, having contributed to 22 goals (10 goals, 12 assists) in 33 games.
''I’ve spoken directly to Anderlecht and a host of clubs but there’s been nothin agreed whatsoever with Anderlecht nor are we anywhere close to doing anything with Anderlecht,'' said Tony Harris to BBC's Oluwashina Okeleji.
''The reported amount is also laughable and makes a complete mockery of the story. Yesterday was an imaginary €20m bid rejected for Kalu, today €10m bid for Hilary from Anderlecht.
''I realize the urgency to break news first but it really does amaze me that experienced media outlets in Europe are willing to quickly copy and paste fake news from uninformed sources without any verification.''
