Leicester City Agree With Mikel : Wilfred Ndidi Is Our Top Passer
Published: April 26, 2018Leicester City and Nigeria captain John Obi Mikel are on the same page as regards to the passing abilities of Wilfred Ndidi which is a huge weapon for the national team.
The former Chelsea midfielder has listed the Foxes number 25 among the six key players that help the national team thrive in their passing game, the others being Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, Eddy Onazi, Oghenekaro Etebo and Victor Moses.
Through their official website, Leicester City have informed that Wilfred Ndidi (1,653 passes) has made the most passes for the Foxes this season, while Maguire (1,566 passes), Mahrez (1,152 passes) and Kasper Schmeichel (1,032 passes) complete the top four.
The former Racing Genk starlet is also Nigeria's leading passer in the English topflight after 34 games, ahead of Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi (900).
Chelsea right wing-back Victor Moses and Leicester City's Kelechi Iheanacho are third and fourth respectively with 727 and 194 passes made, however, the striker has played fewer games with less minutes of game time.
In other categories, Ndidi leads the way in touches for Leicester City, 2,274 in total, ahead of Harry Maguire (2,071) and ex-African Footballer of the Year Riyad Mahrez (1,883).
The 21-year-old's 135 tackles is a Premier League high, while he has played 41 shots without scoring.
