Official: Nigerian Left-Back Pens Contract Extension At Burnley
Published: April 12, 2018This season's Premier League surprise package Burnley have confirmed that they have offered a new deal to promising Nigerian left-back Ali Koiki.
The 18-year-old defender has penned a one-year contract extension with the Clarets with a 12-month option inserted into the deal.
He joined Burnley in 2016 following a successful trial and has also played for the youth team of Crystal Palace.
''I’m very happy. It’s a big thing, coming where I’ve come from. It’s another step and I just want to continue to improve,'' said Koiki to Burnley's official website.
''Playing so regularly this season has been a good thing and hopefully next year I can progress and improve myself further.
''To come into a new training ground every day, where everything is modern, is fantastic and this is a really good place to be.''
Koiki is the second Nigerian teenager to agree fresh terms with Burnley this week, winger Tunde Bayode has penned his first professional contract with the Turf Moor outfit.
