Argentina-Nigeria Friendly: Five Super Eagles Players To Watch Out For

Francis Uzoho, Olanrewaju Kayode and Daniel Akpeyi would all hope to feature for Nigeria when they take on their South American opponents tomorrow, but which ones amongst them in the Super Eagles fold would impress, or at least be seeking to give their reputations a big boost with a sterling performance?

John Obi Mikel — The metronomic Super Eagles skipper is expected to return to the starting XI on Tuesday after missing out on the Constantine dead rubber and as such, would be trusted to lead by example.

The 30-year old proved instrumental to the Super Eagles in their World Cup qualification series, putting in a number of dynamic performances as they effortlessly picked up the sole Group B ticket.

So expect him to float in some beautiful, defence splitting passes or even occasionally having a go at goal himself.

Olanrewaju Kayode — A tireless poacher, and equally proven a reliable goal getter particularly in his time with Austria Wien, he would relish making most of the opportunities that would come his way if he features.

Otamendi would less afford to take his eyes off him even for a second.

Francis Uzoho — Having courted a lot of interest following his scintillating displays for Deportivo La Coruna in the Spanish La Liga this season, there is a big shout for the teenager to be included at the expense of  Akpeyi and Ezenwa in the Nigeria goal.

Judging by his callow standing and inexperience on the international stage, it would be interesting to see how he handles the pressure of stopping the likes of Sergio Aguero and Paulo Dybala.

John Ogu — It is worth nothing that Ogu might likely keep his place for this one after he more than bolstered his reputation against Algeria in the inconsequential World Cup qualifier three days ago.

If his energetic displays in the middle of the park did little to catch the eye, his cracker of a goal did, and more than warmed the hearts of the Nigerian faithfuls who would be delighted to see him involved again for this one.

Alex Iwobi — The Arsenal youngster would be overly disappointed with his inactive showing against the hostile Desert Warriors on Friday, but would be itching to make amends with this one.

The tricky winger is undoubtedly talented, nonetheless and would very much fancy his chances against a less-defensive Albiceleste side. Kranevitter, Pezella and any other tasked with stopping him would not have it easy.
