Solanke Could Cost Liverpool N4.7 Billion Following England Call-Up
Published: November 13, 2017Chelsea are expecting to be paid ten million pounds (approximately N4.7 billion) following the late invitation handed to Dominic Solanke to join the England senior team.
According to The Sun, the Premier League champions are increasingly confident in getting their £10m valuation after Solanke claimed the Golden Ball award at the 2017 U20 World Cup, before making ten appearances for Liverpool's first team and his latest England call-up.
Liverpool had offered three million pounds for the English-born striker of Nigerian parentage, but the figure was deemed insufficient by Chelsea, and the case will now go to a tribunal.
Solanke, who joined Chelsea at U8 level, made only one first-team appearance for Chelsea before joining Liverpool as a free agent in the summer transfer window.
Chelsea are seeking compensation, nonetheless, as they trained the player for more than twelve years before his switch to Anfield.
Solanke will remain eligible to represent the Super Eagles if he makes his senior debut against Brazil on Tuesday night.
