Algeria Coach Madjer : Nigeria Were Scared Of Us During The Second Half
Published: November 12, 2017Algeria national team coach Rabah Madjer has stated that the Super Eagles were scared about the possibility of losing to the Desert Foxes despite taking the lead, albeit against the run of play, in Friday's World Cup qualifier in Constantine.
That said, the Algerians managed to avoid defeat after Brahimi converted a controversial spot kick with two minutes remaining on the clock.
''In the second half, after the goal from Nigeria, I had to make some changes. I pulled out Mahrez who was tired and replaced Ferhat in his place,'' Madjer said to El Bahdja Radio, according to Le Buteur.
''I brought back Bounedjah who brought a lot in front. We created a lot of opportunities and if we had been effective, we would have won.
''Moreover, Nigeria was scared of us during the second half. They saw that we could win.''
The North Africans will face Central African Republic in their next international fixture on Tuesday, November 14, while Nigeria are already in Russia for a friendly against Argentina.
