Published: November 01, 2017Promising Everton winger Korede Adedoyin has become the latest player with dual citizenship to pledge his international future to Nigeria ahead of England, according to information gathered by allnigeriasoccer.com.
Although Adedoyin was born in Nigeria, he is eligible to turn out for England, having lived in the United Kingdom since 2005.
The winger's parents are not putting pressure on him to represent Nigeria but would be delighted if he is capped by the three-time African champions.
Korede Adedoyin is fully aware that the current England U18 squad have played together for about three years, and it would be difficult for him to break into the squad, especially as the Young Lions recently won the Fifa U17 World Cup.
The youngster models his game after Abidjan-born Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha, who played for England's youth teams before he was convinced to play for his country of birth.
Since breaking into the Toffees U18s team towards the end of the 2016-17 season, Adedoyin has scored 6 goals in 16 appearances and became the first Nigerian player to score against Manchester United across all levelsĀ this season when he registered his name on the score-sheet against the U18s on September 30.
He signed scholarship forms with Everton in the summer of 2017.
