Portuguese sports daily Record writes on its electronic edition that Mourinho was at the Estadio da Luz to run the rule over the Benfica players ahead of Tuesday's Champions League match between United and Benfica at Old Trafford.
Manchester United have posted their scouts to keep tabs on Benfica stars since the season started, and they were in attendance for the league matches against Portimonense, Chaves and Rio Ave.
Super Eagles star Oghenekaro Etebo put in a full shift but could not prevent his team from losing 1-0 to the champions of Portugal.
