Arsenal's Okoflex Scores Again, Outshines Dembele As Ireland Retain Victory Shield
Published: October 27, 2017Republic of Ireland U16 National Team retained the prestigious Victory Shield following a 2-0 win over Scotland in their final group match on Friday, October 27.
Goals from Dublin-born Arsenal striker of Nigerian descent Armstrong Okoflex and Matt Everitt secured a win for the Irish at Clandeboye Park.
The 15-year-old returned to the starting line-up, having come off the bench against Wales, while Manchester United starlet Mipo Odubeko was named on the bench.
Republic of Ireland led 1-0 at half-time courtesy of Everitt's effort, before Okoflex doubled their advantage in the second half.
With two goals each, the two scorers today finished as the joint top goalscorers for Paul Osam's side in the tournament staged in Northern Ireland.
Celtic wonderkid Karamoko Dembele started for Scotland U16s against Republic of Ireland.
