Vejle's Nigerian-Brazilian Striker, Dom Says He's Open To Play For Super Eagles
Published: October 23, 2017Vejle Boldklub striker Dominic VinÃcius Eberechukwu Uzoukwu will not turn down the chance to represent the Super Eagles if he is approached by the Nigeria Football Federation, despite his close ties to Brazil.
The 22-year-old has caught the eye since moving to Scandinavia in 2016, scoring 22 goals in 42 appearances for Vejle, and his bonafide agent William Baidek has confirmed that several teams have made enquiries about his client's availability ahead of the reopening of the transfer window.
''Dominic is only 22 years old, has both passports, Brazilian and Nigerian. His father is Nigerian, mother is Brazilian,'' Dominic's agent Baidek told allnigeriasoccer.com.
''We have not been contacted by the Nigerian and Brazilian Federations.
''He likes both countries, he has a bigger connection with Brazil since he grew up there, but of course he would be open to play for Nigeria. It would be great pride if he's called to represent Nigeria.''
Baidek added : ''Lots of teams are interested in him, I have been receiving consultations from Germany, Holland, Belgium, Spain, China, South Korea and Japan.
''About his future it is a bit early to know, maybe in the next transfer window we'll know''.
Dominic Uzoukwu bagged a brace in Vejle's 3-1 win over Viborg on Sunday, and took his tally of goals to seven for the season.
