Gero States His Pleasure At Scoring Against Athletic Bilbao, Dedicates Goal To Mom
Published: October 19, 2017Former Flying Eagles striker Alhaji Gero was pleased after netting his second goal in the group stage of the Europa League against Athletic Bilbao on Thursday and has dedicated his second-half strike to someone very special to him.
Ostersunds FK continue to lead the way in Group J of the Europa League with seven points in the kitty, and Gero has stressed that they can maintain their focus in the remaining matches in the competition, despite the Allsvenskan season ending on November 5.
The Ostersund based club would have claimed their third successive win in the group but had to settle for a 2-2 draw after they conceded with one minute remaining.
''I am dedicating the goal to my mom because she is very special to me,'' said Alhaji Gero to allnigeriasoccer.com.
''Athletic Bilbao is reallya big club and great players. We conceded a last minute goal because it happens when you play against a really big team like them.
''We will maintain and keep working hard in the remaining matches.''
