Wilfred Ndidi Eager To Represent Nigeria At 2018 World Cup
Published: October 13, 2017Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is targeting his first-ever appearance at the World Cup, having helped the Nigerian national team become the first African country to reach Russia 2018.
The former Racing Genk ace featured in the Fifa U20 World Cups in Turkey and New Zealand, and wants to go one step further by playing in the greatest football tournament in the world.
''It means a lot. I feel great and I feel very happy about it. Everyone is happy because we didn’t play at the Africa Cup of Nations, so everyone is happy to see the team going to the World Cup,'' said Ndidi to lcfc.com.
''I feel great about it and it’s not just being part of the team, but for the country as a whole, it’s very nice.
''For me, I feel every player wants to play at the World Cup, so until I get there, I won’t know what it feels like, but for now, I just can’t wait.''
The 20-year-old Ndidi has been passed fit to make his eighth consecutive Premier League appearance of the season when the Foxes host West Brom at the King Power Stadium on Monday.
