England U20 World Cup winners were hosted by Duke of Cambridge at Kensington Palace on Thursday, September 7.

Prince William honoured the Young Lions following their achievement in South Korea, where they became the first British team to win the Fifa U20 World Cup.

Six players of Nigerian descent in the shape of Ademola Lookman (Everton), Sheyi Ojo, Dominic Solanke and Ovie Ejaria (Liverpool), Ademola Lookman (Everton) and Josh Onomah (Tottenham Hotspur) were members of the England squad and got playing time during the tournament.

Dominic Solanke netted four goals and was was awarded the Golden Ball as the player of the tournament.

Influential winger Lookman scored twice in England's 2-1 win versus Costa Rica before registering his name on the score-sheet against Italy in the semi-final.

According to the official website of the Football Association, the Duke, a keen Aston Villa supporter, was quick to seek out Josh Onomah, who is spending this season at Aston Villa on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

Prince William is the President of the English Football Association.
