Moses Named In Chelsea Champions League Roster, Uwakwe Eligible
Published: September 05, 2017Chelsea have published their squad list for the group stages of the UEFA Champions League, with only one player of Nigerian descent included in the roster by manager Antonio Conte.
Super Eagles star Victor Moses is among the 24 players selected by the Italian coach and is classed as a homegrown player.
The UEFA definition of homegrown is a player who was trained for at least three years between the age of 15 and 21 at a club within the relevant national association.
Moses spent nine years at Crystal Palace, then transferred to Wigan Athletic a month after he celebrated his 19th birthday.
The promising midfielder Tariq Uwakwe, an England U19 international, has been omitted from Chelsea's A List, but can still be included on the B List, as he has played nonstop at the club for nine years.
