Tottenham 1 Chelsea 2 : Alonso Grabs The Headlines, Moses Goes 90, Batshuayi Scores OG
In the first Premier League staged at the National Stadium in London, Chelsea beat the home team Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 on Sunday evening, against all the odds.

Chelsea were the second best for most of the game and have to thank left wing-back Marcos Alonso, who netted a brace.

The former Spain U19 international's screamer gave the champions the lead on 24 minutes, David Luiz had won a free-kick after he was tripped by Dele Alli and the Blues number three scored.

On 42 minutes, Harry Kane passed up a glorious opportunity to equalize when his shot hit the post after a brilliant piece of skill from Alli, before a shot from long range by Ben Davies was saved by Thibaut Courtois.

Victor Moses ought to have doubled Chelsea's advantage in the 71st minute but his shot went wide, and two minutes later Willian fired against the post with the keeper beaten.

Tottenham Hotspur's equalizer came from an unlikely source, Michy Batshuayi headed past Courtois after Christian Eriksen crossed the ball into the box from a free-kick.

Alonso popped up with the winner in the 88th minute, with substitute Pedro Rodriguez providing the assist for the goal.
