Man Utd 1 Real Madrid 2: Lukaku Scores Debut Goal, Matic Promising, Fellaini Stars, Ronaldo Subbed In

European champions Real Madrid have added to their trophy collection following an entertaining 2-1 win over Europa League champions Manchester United in the Super Cup final at the Telekom Arena, Skopje on Tuesday night.

There was a pacy start to the game with both sides moving the ball quickly as they searched for the opening goal.

Casemiro wasted a huge chance to break the deadlock when his header hit the crossbar in the 16th minute, before the Brazilian came close to scoring again with a powerful shot that just flew over the bar.

Los Blancos took the lead in the 24th minute thanks to a superb finish from Casemiro after a well timed run.

On 52 minutes, United were exposed again, Real Madrid doubled their advantage thanks to Isco, who found himself in a 1 on 1 situation with the goalkeeper before scoring.

Paul Pogba had a great chance to reduce the deficit, but saw his header parried by Keylor Navas, and few moments later Lukaku saw his shot go off target.

On 62 minutes, Lukaku reduced the deficit from close range after a well hit shot from Matic from the edge of the box was blocked by the keeper and went back into play.

Former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo replaced Karim Benzema in the 83rd minute, Fellaini was impressive after coming off the bench in the 56th minute.

Jose Mourinho's side searched for an equalizer but ran out of time.
