Published: August 05, 2017Manchester United U19s were beaten 1-0 by German club Borussia VfL Mönchengladbach in their second game at the ongoing Otten Cup in the Netherlands on Saturday morning.
The Germans opened the scoring in the fourth minute through the 17-year-old attacking midfielder Arslan Alper, who fired home a shot from a tight angle.
England youth international Teden Mambuene became the eight youngest player to feature in the Otten Cup when he replaced ex-Chelsea academy star Di’Shon Bernard at half-time.
In the closing minutes, United had a chance to equalize but Bughail-Mellor's shot went over the bar.
Manchester United, who recorded an impressive 2-0 win over Cruzeiro on Friday, must beat Inter Milan later today to progress to the semifinals.
