Official: Madrid-Born Nigerian Goalkeeper Departs Premier League Club After Three Years
Published: July 06, 2017Madrid-born Nigerian goalkeeper Tony Aghayere has bid farewell to Premier League club Burnley after three years.
The 19-year-old was not offered a new contract by the Clarets at the end of the 2016-2017 campaign, and was told to look for a new club along with another player of Nigerian descent Olomowewe Akanni.
Aghayere and his agency DRN Sports confirmed this week that the goalkeeper has signed a deal with ambitious National League North club Salford City.
A product of Manchester City, he spent time on loan at Colne FC in the second half of last season.
Tony Aghayere is eligible to play for the national teams of Nigeria and Spain.
