Promising Nigerian Defender To Join Chelsea Senior Set-Up In Pre-Season
Published: June 28, 2017England U20 international of Nigerian descent Fikayo Tomori has been tipped to train with the first team of Premier League champions Chelsea in pre-season.
A couple of exciting young stars, including Tomori, are expected to be on the plane to the Far East, they will be handed the opportunity to impress manager Antonio Conte and push for promotion to the first team.
Tomori was among the ten defenders that traveled to the United States with Chelsea's first team last July for the International Champions Cup pre-season games.
The 19-year-old made his competitive debut for the Blues on the final day of the 2015-2016 season against Leicester City, when he replaced Branislav Ivanović in the 60th minute.
Nigerian right wing-backs Victor Moses and Ola Aina were not involved in international duty with the Super Eagles during the close season and will report for the start of pre-season training on Friday, July 7.
Chelsea will play four friendly games in fifteen days before their opening fixture in the Premier League against Burnley on August 12.
