The Premier League announced the schedule for the 2017-2018 campaign on Wednesday morning, and there are some interesting match-ups involving players of Nigerian descent on the opening day, August 12, 2017.

Super Eagles winger Alex Iwobi and teammate Chuba Akpom will be hoping to be in the Arsenal squad for the visit of Leicester City, who pay the wages of Ahmed Musa and Wilfred Ndidi.

Victor Moses, Fikayo Tomori and Ola Aina are the three players of Nigerian descent that may be involved in Chelsea's game against Burnley at Stamford Bridge.

Everton, who have in their ranks Ross Barkley and England U20 star Ademola Lookman, host Stoke City at Goodison Park.

After starring at the Fifa U20 World Cup, midfielder Josh Onomah will fancy his chances of making the match day squad along with Dele Alli for Tottenham Hotspur's trip to Newcastle United.

Five players of Nigerian descent in the shape of Isaac Success, Stefano Okaka, Dominic Solanke, Ovie Ejaria and Sheyi Ojo may be involved when Watford and Liverpool face off at The Vic.
