Promising Nigerian Defender On Target For Manchester City In 7-1 Win
Promising Nigerian defender Ashinme Kigbu scored a rare goal for Manchester City in their 7-1 hammering of Nike Academy in a scrimmage held at the Academy Stadium on Tuesday, May 9.

City led 4-0 at the break courtesy of goals from Will Patching (2), Ashinme Kigbu and Lukas Nmecha.

Kigbu gave the Citizens a two-goal advantage after 20 minutes with a powerful header from a corner kick.

Born in Jos 18 years ago, the central defender has been approached by representatives of the Nigerian Federation, but presently fancies his chances with England youth teams and has caps for the U18 squad.

He signed a professional contract with Manchester City at the end of the 2015-2016 season.
