Ex-Nigeria U17 Trainee Ovie Ejaria A Huge Doubt To Make England World Cup Roster
Published: April 16, 2017Former Golden Eaglets trainee Ovie Ejaria is a huge doubt to be included in England U20s squad for next month's Fifa Under 20 World Cup in South Korea.
The Liverpool midfielder has not kicked a ball in a competitive fixture since January 28 when he ruptured his syndesmosis - the point just above the ankle where the tibia and the fibula meet- against Wolves in the Emirates FA Cup.
Ejaria is on the road to recovery but expected to be miss the rest of this season, and that means he will not be considered by Young Lions boss Paul Simpson for a training camp ahead of the World Cup.
The London native has appeared four times for England U20s since his debut against Germany, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
Since those caps came in non-competitive friendly matches, Ejaria can decide to pledge his allegiance to Nigeria without Fifa approving his switch.
