Arsenal Nigerian Defender Opens Goal Account For The Season Against Man City
Published: April 12, 2017Promising Nigerian defender Tolaji Bola opened his goalscoring account for the 2016-17 season as Arsenal came from behind to beat Manchester City 4-3 in Merit Group A of the U18 Premier League on Wednesday afternoon.
Bola and another highly-rated youngster Joseph Olowu started for the young Gunners, while Tom Dele-Bashiru started for the Citizens at London Colney.
Both teams went into the break tied at 2-2, but Bola restored Arsenal's one goal advantage in the 59th minute after he was fed by Malen.
Prior to today's game, the 18-year-old had played 19 times in the league for the U18s and U23s teams without finding the back of the net.
London-born Tolaji Bola has represented England at U16 level, and penned his first professional contract with Arsenal in January 2016.
