Fifa Ranking : Super Eagles Back In Africa Top Five
Published: April 06, 2017Football governing body, Fifa, on Thursday morning published its latest ranking of National Teams.
Compared to their position the previous month, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have climbed one place, and now occupy the 40th position, while they are fifth in the continental ranking.
Egypt, Senegal, Cameroon and Burkina Faso are the best four teams in Africa in that order.
Our other two rivals to book a ticket to the 2018 World Cup - Algeria and Zambia - sit in the 54th and 97th place respectively in the updated ranking.
Our main African Nations Cup qualifying foes South Africa and Libya occupy the 64th and 91st position in the global ranking while the last opponent Seychelles are ranked 196th.
Brazil, Argentina and Germany are the top three teams in the world, followed by Chile and Colombia
The next ranking will be published by the official website of Fifa, fifa.com, on 4 May 2017.
