Rohr Explains Why Nigeria Did Not Start At Full Throttle Against Senegal
Published: March 24, 2017Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr has admitted that his team started slowly before gradually gaining momentum in the international friendly with Senegal on Thursday night.
The Super Eagles drew 1-1 with Senegal after Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho scored a late equalizer .
“It is a fact that Leon (Balogun), (William) Ekong and Elderson (Echiejile) had not been playing regularly in their clubs, and even Kenneth (Omeruo) who had been active was played in a different role, ” Rohr stated.
“Musa and Kelechi had also not been playing much. So, it was tough for them at the start but they picked up well and showed good character.”
