Nigeria Set To Battle Netherlands For Ajax Amsterdam Left Wing-Back
Published: March 11, 2017The Nigeria Football Federation are set to battle the Royal Dutch Football Association over the international future of Ajax Amsterdam teenage sensation Niyi Scholten.
Niyi Scholten, who has a Nigerian parent, has been living in the Netherlands, and the KNVB have moved fast to secure the international future of the highly-rated teenager by capping him for their U15 team.
Apart from Scholten’s defensive qualities at left-back, he is also known for his attacking exploits and a competent back up at left wing and center forward.
The young talent, who plays for Ajax C1, will begin training with the Netherlands U15 squad on Tuesday ahead of their game with Belgium on March 28.
The Nigeria Football Federation have convinced ADO Den Haag wing-back Tyronne Ebuehi to turn out for the Super Eagles, and are in talks with Netherlands U21 international Kingsley Ehizibue about pledging his international future to the three-time African champions.
