Super Eagles Better Ranked Than All World Cup & AFCON Qualifiers Foes Apart From Cameroon
Published: March 09, 2017Football governing body, Fifa, on Thursday published its latest ranking of National Teams.
Compared to their position the previous month, the Super Eagles remain in the 41st position, while they are seventh in the continental ranking.
Egypt, Senegal, Cameroon, Burkina Faso and Tunisia are the best five teams in Africa in that order.
Our other two rivals to book a ticket to the 2018 World Cup - Algeria and Zambia - sit in the 50th and 90th place respectively in the updated ranking.
Our main Nations Cup qualifying foes South Africa and Libya occupy the 62nd and 92nd position in the global ranking while the last opponent Seychelles are ranked 187th.
Argentina, Brazil and Germany are the top three teams in the world, followed by Chile and Belgium.
The next ranking will be published by the official website of Fifa, fifa.com, on 6 April 2017.
