Fanendo Adi Named To Inaugural MLS Team Of The Week For 2017
Published: March 07, 2017Fanendo Adi has been named to Major League Soccer’s Team of the Week for the opening day in the American top-flight.
The Portland Timbers striker was recognized on the back of his performance in the Timbers 5-1 rout of Minnesota United in which he scored two late goals.
In a 4-3-3 formation, Adi was named in attack along with Romell Quioto (Houston Dynamo) and David Accam (Chicago Fire).
Adi and Diego Valeri combined for eight of the Timbers 13 shots against the Loons – four of them hitting the back of the net.
One of his goals against Minnesota United has been nominated for MLS Goal of the Week.
