Uncapped Barnet Striker Akinde Hits Goal No. 21 Ahead Of Visit Of Super Eagles To Hive Stadium
Published: March 01, 2017John Akinde was on target as Barnet played out a 2-2 draw with Blackpool on game week 34 in a League Two encounter at Bloomfield Road on Tuesday night.
Akinde netted his 21st league goal of the season in the 13th minute when a deflected strike cannoned back off the post and the prolifici was on hand to tap in.
The visitors were 2-0 up and looked to be coasting but Delfouneso reduced the deficit just before the hour mark, his fourth goal for the Seasiders since returning the club as a free agent in the January transfer window.
Akinde, who is eligible to represent Nigeria and England but has no caps for the two nations, leads the League Two scoring charts ahead of Marquis of Doncaster Rovers.
Interestingly, the Super Eagles will face Senegal in an international friendly later this month at Barnet’s home ground, the Hive Stadium.
