Chelsea Goal-Scoring Midfielder Uwakwe On Target Against West Ham Side Captained By Akinola
Published: February 25, 2017Chelsea U18s ended their campaign in the Under-18 Premier League (South) in style with a 3-0 rout of West Ham at Little Heath Sports Ground on Saturday afternoon.
Defender Olatunji Akinola captained the Young Hammers squad from the very beginning, and Chelsea midfielder Tariq Uwakwe was handed another start by manager Jody Morris.
After a goalless first half, McCormick opened the scoring from the spot in the 47th minute before Uwakwe doubled the advantage on 64 minutes.
Uwakwe’s strike against West Ham was his seventh goal in all competitions this season, six of which have come in the U18 Premier League.
The England U18 international signed his first professional contract with Chelsea in November 2016.
