Everton England Star Of Nigerian Descent Draws Battle Line With Moyes, Sunderland
Published: February 25, 2017Everton midfielder Ross Barkley has refused to write off the chances of Sunderland ahead of their visit to Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.
Admittedly, Sunderland are struggling in the Premier League, but the England star of Nigerian descent has huge respect for the Black Cats manager David Moyes, who handed him his debut during the 2011-2012 season.
“David Moyes went in and things weren’t going well at the start but they have had good results, like they did against Crystal Palace when they got a 4-0 win. They are capable of that, ” said Barkley to the official website of Everton.
“His [Moyes’] sides do normally finish very strong towards the end of the season.
“We are ready for a battle because they are towards the bottom of the table.”
Former Everton striker Victor Anichebe will not play against his old club due to injury, while England U20 international Ademola Lookman could feature for the home team.
