Exclusive: Man City Studying Possibility Of Selling Iheanacho, With Buy-Back Option
Published: February 17, 2017Kelechi Iheanacho could bid farewell to Manchester City in the summer transfer window, less than three years after his arrival at the Etihad Stadium.
The handwriting is on the wall that the Nigeria international has fallen out of favour with City manager Pep Guardiola after failing to make the matchday squad since January 15, when he appeared off the bench versus Everton.
The Citizens higher-ups are studying the possibility of selling their number 72 to a non-English club, with a buy-back clause inserted into the agreement.
“Kelechi is on the bench because of his off the pitch association, ” a Nigeria Football Federation insider, who is close to Iheanacho, told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“Man City are studying the possibility of transferring him out of England, with a buy-back option.
“But the obstacles in the proposed move are the two litigation, a mess he caused himself and yet to clean up. ”
It is one hundred percent confirmed that Bournemouth, Sunderland and West Ham earlier approached Manchester City over the signing of Iheanacho, but the possibility of the striker remaining in England should he depart M11 3FF looks bleak at the moment.
