Blackburn Rovers Midfielder Akpan Sent Off For Pushing Referee
Published: February 15, 2017Nigeria international Hope Akpan has criticized referee Duncan following his dismissal in Blackburn Rovers 2-1 loss to Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship on Tuesday night.
The midfielder took the walk of shame with four minutes left on the clock after he protested against a disallowed goal by pushing the referee.
Akpan thought he had equalized for Blackburn Rovers but the referee ruled that he had committed a foul before the ball went into the net.
And he could face further disciplinary action for going on social media to complain about the decision of the referee, though he later deleted his tweet.
The former Reading and Crawley Town ace has 19 games under his belt in the English second-tier.
