Ameobi Brothers, Shola & Sammy, Face-Off For Bolton Goal Of The Year
Published: February 10, 2017Bolton Wanderers have revealed twelve goals that will compete for the Goal of the Year for 2016.
Ahead of the 2017 EFL Awards, the official website of the Trotters has picked the best goals scored last year, with two Nigerian players Shola Ameobi and Sammy Ameobi making the list.
Shola’s strike against MK Dons on January 23 has been nominated along with two goals scored by Sammy against Millwall and Gillingham on October 18 and December 12 respectively.
The Nigeria international penned a three-month contract with Bolton in October 2015, while ex-Flying Eagles ace Sammy was on the books of the club for the first half of this season, on loan from Newcastle United.
Goals scored by Zach Clough, Lawrie Wilson, Jay Spearing, David Wheater and Josh Vela have also been nominated for the favourite Bolton Wanderers goal in the 2016 calendar year.
