Alukos, Iwobi, Lookman, Dele, Akinde Nominated For London Football Awards
Published: February 03, 2017Six players of Nigerian ancestry have been nominated for the prestigious London Football Awards, an award ceremony that celebrates the very best of London Football.
The Nigerian nominees include Sone Aluko and his senior sister Eniola, Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi, Charlton Athletic teen sensation Ademola Lookman, Dele Alli and prolific striker John Akinde.
Iwobi will have to see off competition from Dele and Lookman to win the Young Player award, while Sone Aluko and John Akinde are both in the running for the Football League Player of the Year.
Eniola Aluko will be hoping to retain the Women’s Player of the Year award, having made the shortlist.
The winners of the awards will be announced at a gala ceremony to be held at Battersea Evolution on March 2, 2017.
