Wolves Young Defender Odofin Reveals Mom Has Been A Big Influence
Published: April 26, 2016Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Hakeem Odofin has revealed that his mom has been a big influence since he became a footballer and has offered him advice whenever he needs it.
The 18-year-old joined the Championship side from Barnet in the January transfer window and has impressed for the U21s since his arrival.
“She just says to me ‘No Excuses’. Whatever the conditions of a pitch, or whatever is going on, don’t ever let it affect your game. Just give it your very best every time you play,” Odofin said to wolves.co.uk.
“She is always there to give me advice whenever I need it. She used to take me everywhere I needed to go when I was younger.
“She has been my number one fan – and my number one critic! And that is important.”
Born in London, Hakeem Odofin spent his formative years as a footballer with the youth teams of Tottenham Hotspur and Reading before joining Barnet in 2014.
