Odion Ighalo : I Can Not Believe My Dad Is No More
Published: April 26, 2016Watford striker Odion Ighalo is still grieving over the death of his father, Paul Ighalo, who passed away on Monday morning after complaining of being weak three days ago.
A day before the Hornets clashed with Crystal Palace in one of the semifinal ties in the Emirates FA Cup, the Nigeria international spoke to his dad for the last time.
“I’m short of words at this moment. I can’t believe my dad is no more. I spoke to him on Saturday and he prayed for me,” said Ighalo to thenff.com.
“I never knew that would be the last time we would have a father-and-son conversation.
“I’m going to miss him a great deal because he has been the greatest motivator for me in my career.”
NFF President Amaju Pinnick, on behalf of the football fraternity, was in contact with Ighalo on Monday to mourn with him and offered condolences.
