Wolves Starlet Dominic Iorfa Impresses In First Game In Central Defense
Published: April 16, 2016Dominic Iorfa impressed as a central defender in Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 loss to Hull City on Friday night in the Championship, so much so that he has been praised by his coach Kenny Jackett.
For the first time in 58 games in the second-tier, the England U21 international, who is originally a right fullback, was deployed at center back by the manager in the absence of Danny Batth who was unavailable for selection due to illness.
“Danny missed out through illness and it was a big night for Dominic and Kortney,” said Jackett to wolves.co.uk.
“But they have enough experience now and I wasn’t disappointed with them.”
To a certain extent, Iorfa was responsible for the first goal conceded by Wolves at the KC Stadium after a miscued clearance by the defender, otherwise he had an excellent game indeed.
