MLS Wrap: Akindele, Alashe Score; Adi Replaced; Opara Makes First Start; Emeghara Benched

Canada international Tesho Akindele impressed for FC Dallas at Providence Park, helping his team record a 3-1 win road win over Portland Timbers.
The attacker set up the opening goal scored by Michael Barrios in the fourth minute before scoring in the 29th minute to give Dallas a three-goal advantage.
Akindele, who picked up a booking in the 68th minute, played the full game whereas Fanendo Adi subbed out in the 65th minute.
At Avaya Stadium (San Jose), United States U23 international Fatai Alashe recorded his first goal of the season in the 40th minute as San Jose Earthquakes posted a 2-0 victory against New York Red Bulls.
The San Jose Earthquakes number 27 lasted the distance, while teammate Innocent Emeghara did not participate in the game though he made the 18-man squad.
Finally at Children’s Mercy Park, ex USA youth-teamer Ike Opara made his first start in the MLS since April 12,2015, as Sporting Kansas City lost 2-1 to Colorado Rapids. He worked a 90-minute shift in the heart of defense.
