Rilwan Hassan Explains Reason Behind Recent Purple Patch In Front Of Goal
Published: April 03, 2016FC Midtjylland’s Rilwan Hassan,25, has explained the reason behind his recent purple patch in front of goal.
For the second game in three matches, Hassan was on target as the defending Danish Superliga champs saw off Brondby 2-0 at the MCH Arena (Herning);netting the opener three minutes before the intermission.
“I am no more playing from the wings, I am now playing from the midfield behind the striker. That is what has contributed to my goal-scoring opportunities,” said Hassan to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“The two goals were from set pieces, the first one I scored with my head while I scored with my left leg today.
“We are happy to get the three points, our next game is against Viborg and we are targeting three points as well.”
After 23 games in the top-flight, the Wolves are playing catch-up in the title race, with a massive ten points separating them from leaders FC Copenhagen but Hassan quickly dismissed fears they will relinquish their crown at the end of the season.
“There are still a lot of games and a lot of points to win. We are not looking at the table, we are taking one game at a time, that is what is most important,” the number 36 added.
Rilwan Hassan subbed out fifteen minutes from time against Brondby, while the lanky striker and Nigeria U23 international Paul Onuachu joined the fray four minutes later.
