Spurs Starlet Onomah Scores Again As England U19s Book Their Place In Germany
Published: March 29, 2016The England Under 19s have sealed their place in this summer’s European Championship following their 2-0 victory over defending champs Spain in the UEFA U19s Euros Elite Round Qualifier on Tuesday.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Josh Onomah was included in Aidy Boothroyd’s starting XI and it took him only six minutes to grab the opener at the Estadio Municipal, Ciudad de Lepe.
The 18-year-old Londoner also registered his name on the score sheet in the Young Lions 2-1 win over Georgia last Thursday.
Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo started and played 60 minutes of England’s 1-1 draw with Greece on Saturday and came off the bench versus Georgia, but did not make the 18-man squad for today’s game against the Spaniards.
The 2016 UEFA European Under-19 Championship will be hosted by Germany from 11–24 July 2016, with eight teams competing for the title
