Golden Eaglets Star Orji Okonkwo Prefers Chelsea Move Over Spezia
Published: March 18, 2016Allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed that Nigeria youth international Orji Okonkwo surfaced in Abuja on Friday morning to participate in a friendly game between FC Gwarimpa and FC Abuja.
The attacker would have been representing his legitimate club Football College Abuja at the prestigious Torneo di Viareggio, where so many talents have been unearthed, but chose to stay away from the tourney after he was advised by his representatives.
Football College Abuja reached an agreement with their cooperative team Spezia for Orji Okonkwo to join the Serie B side in January but the player has other plans.
Former Nigeria international Danny Shittu and his partner Femi Olaniran have claimed that they are thrashing out terms with Chelsea over a deal for the St Thomas FC Benin City product but an agreement is yet to materialize four months after the Fifa Under 17 World Cup.
That said, this website can independently confirm that technical director at Chelsea, Michael Emenalo, is undecided over a move for the highly-rated starlet as a result of the coaching situation at the Blues.
Aged 18, Okonkwo starred for the Golden Eaglets at the World Cup in Chile and scored one of the goals of the tournament, a 35-yard screamer, against Mexico in the semifinal.
